What an appropriate stamp set name for a Monday!!
I have made it my goal to actually play with all my goodies within a week of receipt! And so, when a coworker’s birthday popped up last week, I decided to make her a journal (CASEd from one of the Stampin’ Up! Artisans) using the new You’ve Got This stamp set! (Note that the large journal I use here is retired 😦 We still have small ones!)
First off, I had to figure out what color she used to stamp the hatched background on the Kraft journal, so I grabbed a swatch of our Kraft cardstock and tried a few colors, letting it dry. The winner: Crumb Cake! I let it dry for awhile, then stamped and embossed the flower so I could practice with my Blender Pens. Having this also helped me eye where I needed to place the stamp. I really don’t want to mess up and have a wasted journal!
After that, I closed my eyes and went for it on the journal… okay… I didn’t really close my eyes, but sometimes, you just have to jump in and do it! I guess I didn’t wait long enough for the Crumb Cake to dry because I wound up with some stray embossing powder, but I actually didn’t mind the effect… so, I was okay giving it to someone 🙂 Added a strip of dry embossed Mint Macaron and some ribbon. I even added a few buttons to some twine! Sometimes those “little” things you just don’t think about can make all the difference.
I tied a little bow with the Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine, which in turn inspired my little birthday card! I knew I didn’t need to go “all out” on the card since the masterpiece was the journal, so I just made a little matching 3 x 3 card. Super quick and easy, even with using the envelope liner die (I turned the die catty-corner on the envelope paper so that my lines were a diagonal)! I grabbed the birthday sentiment from Butterfly Basics.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little peak into my weekend (I have more to share)!
