I canNOT believe it’s October already!! This year has flown by (thankfully, since I’m in a long-distance relationship!)!!
Hope you’re having a good time on this month’s blog tour. You probably hopped here from Anne with an e (I’m in an “Ann” sandwich 🙂 ), but if you get lost, everyone’s links are at the bottom!
On to my cards to share. My thought process for the last 2 months is to take one bundle and apply it to all three of the fall holidays, even cooler since the ones I’ve chosen are traditionally Christmas stamps! I am FIIIIIIINALLY placing an order from the holiday catalog tomorrow! I’m so excited! I’ve been playing with my order for months 🙂 So, next time I’ll have some newer things to share, but sometimes it’s nice to see a spin on an “old” favorite, right? 🙂
This month, I’ve chosen the Wondrous Wreath/Wonderful Wreath bundle that made its way into the Annual Catalog after being introduced in last year’s holiday catalog.
No October event can be replete without a nod to Breast Cancer Awareness month to honor those who have fought bravely and to encourage women to do routine checks. I believe we have a survivor or two in the blog tour lineup, by the way! 🙂 I put my wreath stamped with Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, and Watermelon Wonder on a Smoky Slate base. The ribbon is the Dotted Lace Trim in Watermelon Wonder (lots of glue dots there in the middle!). I used the Crazy About You/Hello You bundle to complete the card. I wish we had a “Hope” greeting thinlit, but as yet, we do not, so I went with a card you could give to encourage someone who’s fighting. (and yes, that IS the Washi Label punch you see– I keep that one by my stamping area at all times as a go-to!)
UPDATED: Added the Black Glimmer Paper “spooky” greeting from Seasonal Frame Thinlits to it. I went with a Basic Gray card base, sponged with Smoky Slate. The wreath is stamped in Smoky Slate, Pumpkin Pie, and Memento Black ink. After I wrapped the Pumpkin Pie cotton ribbon around it and adhered it, I dotted a little Silver Dazzling Details on it! I just wish the Bitty Bat punch was still current or I’d have added a few of those 😉
Next up is Thanksgiving, of course! I used fall colors for my wreath this time. I stamped off Delightful Dijon once before stamping it on to the piece I was using. It’s accented with Tangelo Twist, Cherry Cobbler, and Blackberry Bliss. The ribbon is of course the gorgeous lace in Delightful Dijon, and is mounted on a Tip Top Taupe card base with the “Thanks” from the Hello You Thinlits. Tip Top Taupe, in case you haven’t seen it in person yet, is GORGEOUS– however, it’s one of those colors I just cannot get to photograph well, so I apologize for that.
Then here comes Christmas! 77 days (that’s 2.5 months!) til it arrives!! I can’t wait because I’ve been shopping/making and putting away gifts to spoil my nieces and nephews since April! 🙂 I made the Thanksgiving and Christmas cards as part of a new In Color card challenge, so this one uses sort of one-offs from traditional Christmas colors (meaning, not entirely traditional, but certainly not completely untraditional like pink and/or purple). I went with a Mint Macaron base and ribbon, and stamped my wreath in Mint Macaron (stamped off once first), Cucumber Crush, and then the berries are embossed silver (stamped with Versamark first). The “Joy” is also from the Wondrous Wreath bundle.
Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed tonight’s tour! Hope on over to Ann to see what she has in store!
